A practice centred on family and matrimonial matters, and on cases where women and children need the law's protection.
Most of the work is in the Family and District Courts: divorce by mutual consent and contested divorce, maintenance for a wife and children, domestic violence cases, child custody and guardianship, and cases of cruelty and dowry. Where it helps, disputes are settled through notices, mediation and agreement before they reach court.
Adv. Parul Chaudhary is a Partner of Nyay Law Firm with Advocate Varun Chaudhary. Clients who would prefer to consult a woman advocate can meet her at the Indirapuram office; matters in the High Courts and the Supreme Court are taken up through the firm.

Where can I meet her?
At the Indirapuram office, from 10 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 8 PM, by prior appointment, or by phone or video call.
Can I speak to a woman advocate about a family matter?
Yes. Many clients, especially women, prefer to discuss matters such as divorce, domestic violence or maintenance with a woman advocate. You can meet Adv. Parul Chaudhary at the Indirapuram office or speak to her by phone or video call.
Can the six-month waiting period in a mutual consent divorce be waived?
Under Section 13-B of the Hindu Marriage Act, the second motion is ordinarily moved six months after the first. The Supreme Court has held (Amardeep Singh v. Harveen Kaur, 2017) that the Family Court may waive this period in suitable cases, for example where the parties have already lived apart for a long time and settled all issues.
How is maintenance claimed?
A wife, children or parents unable to maintain themselves may apply to the Family Court under Section 144 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. Maintenance may also be claimed under the Hindu Adoptions and Maintenance Act, the Hindu Marriage Act or the Domestic Violence Act, depending on the facts.
Can I speak in Hindi?
Yes. Consultations, drafting and correspondence are in Hindi or English, as you prefer.
Is what I share kept confidential?
Yes. Communications with an advocate are confidential and are shared only with your consent or as the law requires.
